Dessert - under 10 minutes

Cooking is not a race (not always, anyway!) but sometimes you just have to be fast. That means you can't bake or freeze but you can definitely poach or caramelize. This is what I did here, I caramelized a pear using vanilla sugar and some orange juice.
You wouldn't tell is that easy, would you?
So next time when you have no time, do this and you'll be fine, your guest will compliment you, I promise!

Chocolate and pear madness

I made this the other night for a friend's party not knowing how is going to be. I made it and left the premises being ever so nervous about the result. It looked great but i had no idea how it tasted or if i got the consistency right. Early morning today i got a text: thanks for a fab choc cake which was enjoyed by all!.
Now that's what baking is about!

These sweet little hearts brighten up a grey Monday morning. They did more than they were meant to.

Working out snack break

Cheese and crackers break. Add salmon pate and you're onto a winner.
Happy snacking everyone!

What are you snacking on today?

I go healthy and have feta cheese on Melba toast with cheery tomatoes. I could eat this all day!

Sunday lunch

Today's been about cooking together. Some might wonder how we deal with one of us not eating meat and if we get put off at times for having to cook twice as much. We don't really, is twice as much  fun and I personally love experimenting in the kitchen so having to cook two different dishes at once makes me quite excited. We cut off on sweets lately even though I have something in mind for an approaching day beginning with 14!  I only had porridge for breakfast this last weeks and you know what? It's really good and delicious and I look forward to it every day. Who would've thought?
Keep in touch then, there will be some baking going on this week, I promise!
